Carol Jean Dawson

Mrs. Carol Jean Dawson,age 74 of Fairmount, passed away Sunday morning, August 31, 2008 at her residence following one year of declining health.

Mrs. Dawson was born on July 10, 1934 in Salem, Kentucky, daughter of the late Carroll Everett Council and Ethel Seabree Council. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Dawson and two sisters, Nan Francis Council and Baby Council. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Dawson enjoyed helping people and was a caregiver by profession. She loved music, and played the piano, the auto harp, and the guitar.

Mrs. Dawson is survived by three daughters, Robin Lynne Dixon of Fairmount, Kimberly Carol Doyle and her husband Paul of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, and Amanda Nichole Hix and her husband Grady of Fairmount; a son, William Eugene Dawson, III of Resaca; two sisters, Betty McIntosh and her husband Carl of Paducah, Kentucky, and Nora Beverly Mullins and her husband Virgil of Barlow, Kentucky; seven brothers, Howard Calvin Council and his wife Betty Joe of Amelia, Ohio, Bill Ray Council and his wife Ollie Susan of Goshen, Ohio, Kenneth Council of Livingston, Kentucky, Wilburn Lane Council of Barlow, Kentucky, Gerald Don Council of Riverside, California, Bobby Council of Barlow, Kentucky and Charles Arthur Council and his wife Elda of Hodgenville, Kentucky. Thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Carol Jean Dawson will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00pm from the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, Georgia, with Mark Owens officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Paul R. Doyle, Grady Hix, James D. Underwood, Charlie Dixon, Paul J. Doyle and Brandon R. Doyle. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home from 10:00am until time to depart to the Oak Hill Cemetery for the graveside service.
