Obituary

Carol Jean Poe, 80, of Calhoun, Georgia died Thursday, April 30, 2020 after several months of declining health. She was born on November 30, 1939 in Rome, Georgia to the late Verbal Henry and Claude Harris Shugart. She was of Methodist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Poe, brothers, Rex Shugart, John Shugart, and Jerry Shugart.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Terry and Lisa Poe, and Jeff Poe; grandchildren, Reece Poe, Reagan Poe, and Kate Poe; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. A live stream will be on Max Brannon and Sons Facebook Page. Pallbearers serving include, Juddie Campbell, Clint Baker, Stacy Hunt, David Shugart, Johnny Shugart, and Eddie Cabaniss. A private burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
