Carolyn Ruth Bryant

Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Baker Bryant, 76 of Calhoun, died suddenly at her home on Thursday, March 31, 2016. She was born in Gordon County on July 12, 1939, daughter of the late J. Carl Baker, who died in 1985, and the late Ruth Irene Seritt Baker, who died in 2010. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lionel (Butch) Bryant in 2009; a brother, Charles Jack Baker in 2012; and a sister, Margie Baker Long in 2009.

Mrs. Bryant enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Her all-time favorite place to eat was Pasquale's. She loved attending church at Sugar Valley Church of God, where she was a member.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lionel (Steve) and Shirley Bryant of Calhoun; sister, Retha Smith of Calhoun; sister-in-law, Charlotte Baker of Calhoun; granddaughter, Tracie Crowsey and her fiancAC., Josh Burton of Fayetteville, TN; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Crowsey, Jayden Crowsey, and Morgan Burton.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Baker Bryant will be held Sunday, April 3rd at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating. Music will be arranged by Sandy Long, and Sherry and Jason Sloan. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Lonnie Walker, Jack McGaskey, Wayne Aldridge, Jim Roberts, Wayne Brown, Gerald White, and David Raines.

The Bryant family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 2nd from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
