Catherine Carney Witt Haygood

Mrs. Catherine Carney Witt Haygood, age 71 of Calhoun, died Saturday May 11, 2013 following three weeks of declining health.

Mrs. Haygood was born in Gordon County, GA on January 12, 1942, daughter of the late Lewis and Pearl Price Carney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bobby) Haygood on February 28, 2012; a son, Randy Witt, on August 5, 2011; two sisters, Francis Goss and Betty Sue Edwards; and four brothers, A.D. Carney, James Carney, Rayford Carney and Charles Carney. She attended Boone Ford Baptist Church.

Mrs. Haygood is survived by a daughter, Tina Rickett and her husband Barry of Calhoun; two sons, Ricky Witt and his wife Janice, and Sam Witt and his wife Stephanie, all of Adairsville; three sisters, Mary Ruth Robinson of Adairsville, Dorothy Wilson of Calhoun, and Shirley Crump of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Josh Witt, Chad Witt, Cody Witt, Dalton Witt and Dylan Witt. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Carney Witt Haygood will be conducted Sunday, May 11, 2013, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. Music will be arranged by Pat Hall. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Bernard Brown, Willis Worley, Eddie Ingram, Eddie Carney, Kenneth Roland and Cody Witt. Honorary pallbearers are Gabe Edwards, Dalton Will, Dylan Witt, Chad Witt and Stevie Robinson.
