Catherine Elizabeth Kennedy

Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Kennedy, age 89 of Calhoun, Georgia passed away May 17, 2008 at her daughter's residence. She was born in Washington, D.C. on October 17, 1918, daughter of the late Elmer R. and Amelia W. Stombock, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Kennedy.

Mrs. Kennedy was a former resident of Regal at Morning Pointe in Calhoun. She was also a former resident of Alexandria, Virginia prior to moving to Venice, Florida where she resided for 32 years. She moved to Calhoun, Georgia in 2001 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ed Donn. She was retired from the Neilson Rating Company in Venice, and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Donn and her husband Ed of Calhoun, Georgia and Dolores K. Barnes of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren, Casey and Chris Hall of Alexandria, Daniel Barnes of Chester, Connecticut, Cheryl and Oscar Melis of Canton, Georgia, and Leslie and Don Watt of Acworth, Georgia. Seven great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home in Sarasota, Florida. Services will be at 7:30pm at the conclusion of the Visitation. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
