Cecil Pack

November 13, 1918 — January 2, 2015

Mr. Cecil Pack, age 96 of Ranger, GA, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at his home following several years of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on November 13, 1918, son of the late Henry and Susie Tippens Pack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Kirby; brothers, Ben Pack, Carter Pack, J.L. (Bud) Pack, Jimmy Pack, and Travis Pack; and sisters, Jewel Watkins, Stella Black, Addie Lawson, Lois McCurty, and Beatrice Newman.

Mr. Pack loved his family, and was often known to say, "I love everybody". He was a hard worker all his life, enjoying his garden and corn patch, making homemade syrup, and chopping wood. He was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves behind his children, Marvin Pack of Ranger; Maggie Sue Harris and her husband Billy of Adairsville, Janell Bunch and her husband Larry of Calhoun, Angie Henson and her husband Kenneth of Ranger, Patricia Evans and her husband Barry of Ranger, and Donna Greeson and her husband Terry of Ranger; brothers, Jerry Pack of New Mexico and Gary Pack of California; and sisters, Juanita Wilkins of Nevada, Helen Castello of California, and Betty Bingham of Dalton. Grandchildren surviving are Linda Oaks, Anita Gulledge, Tammy Adams, Michael Pack, Bryon Reeves, Andrea Fain, Selena Garland, Adam Evans, Kirbie Price, Ashley Bruce, and Nathaniel Greeson. Seventeen great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Cecil Pack will be held Monday, January 5th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Cecil Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Nathaniel Greeson, Adam Evans, Monty Garland, Bryon Reeves, Steve Fain, and Terry Black. Great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The Pack family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, January 4th from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

The family would like to thank Angie Bettis and Nicole Jordan of Amedisys Hospice and the entire staff for their special care of Mr. Pack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, North Georgia Regional Office, 922 East Morris Street Dalton, GA 30721.
