Charles Anciel Bridwell

Mr. Charles Anciel Bridwell, age 71 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Floyd Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Bridwell was born on April 11, 1936 in Savannah, Georgia, son of the late George Bridwell and Ruby Adams Bridwell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Cail. During his lifetime, he was employed as an electrician, and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Bridwell is survived by his wife, Shirley Ellen Bass Bridwell, to whom he was married for 16 years; one daughter, Kathy Dozier Legg and her husband Randy of Rockmart; two sons, Charles Richard (Ricky) Bridwell of Armurchee, and Chuck Bridwell of Marietta; one brother, George Bridwell and his wife Becky of Blue Ridge; two sisters, Nan Hart of Dallas, Georgia, and Penny Patterson of Rockmart, Georgia; and a stepson, Ronald Williams and his wife Judy of Calhoun. Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Anciel Bridwell will be conducted Thursday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Following the funeral service, Mr. Bridwell will be carried to Colbock-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville, Tennessee where he will lie in state until the graveside service at Highland Cemetery on Friday. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Thursday, beginning at 9:00am until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.
