Obituary
Charles Bonik Jr., of Calhoun, died at his home Wednesday, November 7, 2018 following several years of declining health. Charles was born in Varney, West Virginia on March 15, 1948; he was the son of the late Charles Bonik Sr. and the late Mildred Richardson Lustri. Charles served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired, after more than thirty-seven years of service, from Mosaic in Mullberry, Florida. Charles was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of more than forty-nine years, Freida Shew Bonik; his son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Jennifer Bonik; his daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Clark, Tanya and Wes Scott, Trisha Bonik and Todd Flowers; his grandchildren, Bobby, Kayla, Kimmie, Hope, Mark, Chase, Austin, Sally, Harvey, Colton, Parker, Summer, and Sara; his great-grandchildren, Carly, Liam, Tyler, Taylin, Triston, Rylee, Mark III, and Parker; his sister, Shirley Austin; his step-father, Blackie Lustri; his nephew, Bobby Stepp; his niece, Millie Stepp.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow the visitation on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Pastor Tim Reid will officiate, with honors by the United States Army Honor Guard.
