Mr. Charles Edward King, age 59 of Ranger, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Hospice Atlanta following a period of declining health. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on July 6, 1955, son of Carter and Margaret Parks King. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stevie Mills.
Prior to his illness, Mr. King was a metal fabricator with Mid-South Metal Works.
He leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Melanie Parrish King; parents, Carter and Margaret King; three sons, Jack Guess of Oakman, and Chuck King and Jason King, both of Clearwater, Florida; three daughters, Crystal Guess of Oakman, Dixie Monroe and her husband Tim of Perry, Florida, and Jennifer Peters and her husband Phil of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, Tommy King and his wife Terri of Clearwater, and Harold King and his wife Diane of Suwanee, Georgia; three sisters, Sandy King of East Ridge, Tennessee, Joy Bremer and her husband Doug of Clearwater, and Deena Ion and her husband Dave of Greenville, SC; and sisters-in-law, Amber Parrish, Connie Pendergrass and her husband Scott, and Stacie Musella and her husband Rick. Grandchildren are Emerson King, Ciara King, Taylor King, Bradley Monroe, Lilly McLeish, Catherine Peters, Audrey Peters, and Eric Peters. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Kyle Heckathorn, Krystal Ducker, Russell King, Rachel Clark, Heather Bremer, Carter Bremer, Michael King, Shane King, Chris King, and TC King; father-in-law, Melvin Parrish; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Travis and Rebecca Heath; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Max and Dianne Guess.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Charles Edward King will be held Saturday, October 4th at 6:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 4:00 PM until the service hour.
