Obituary

Charles G. Groomes, 65, of Calhoun, died Monday, February 18, 2019 at Calhoun Health Care, following several years of declining health. He was born in Cobb County on December 1, 1953, son of the late James Edward and Grace Darnell Groomes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Cash Groomes in 2003.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Robbie Groomes, Floyd and Darlene Groomes, Glenn and Patricia Groomes, all of Calhoun, and Tony Groomes of Nashville, GA; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Mike Rich of Calhoun, Mildred and Johnny Ballew of Calhoun, Linda Summey of Allapha, GA, and Darlene Young of Florida; his aunts, Ethlene Banks of Cleveland, TN, and Emma Groomes of Calhoun; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A service to honor the life of Charles G. Groomes will be held Thursday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Hunter Quarles officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 20th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
