Mr. Charles David Garlin, age 64 of Adairsville, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Floyd Medical Center. He was born in Floyd County on September 10, 1946, son of the late David and Annie Mittie Adcock Garlin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Garlin.
Mr. Garlin was a very loving, devoted husband and father, a home builder, and a fisher of men. He attended Canaanland Christian Center, and was a member of the Adairsville Church of God. He was retired from Artisan's as Lab Manager.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Charlotte Burke Garlin; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Susan Garlin of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Melisa and Terry Nations of Adairsville; a step-daughter, Allison Worley and her husband Stuart of Calhoun; and three sisters, Agnes Massingill of Calhoun, Lillie Mae Payne and her husband John of Rome, and Retha Brown and her husband Jerry of Calhoun. Eight grandchildren surviving are Eli Nations, Avery Nations, Taylor Nations, Samantha Garlin, Bayleigh Garlin, Julianna Garlin, Madeline Claire Garlin, and Charles Isaac Garlin. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles David Garlin will be conducted Wednesday, December 22nd at 2:00pm from the Adairsville Church of God, with Rev. Jack Bailey, and Rev. Harold Dale officiating. Interment will follow in the Hayes Cemetery with Rev. Randy Gulledge conducting the graveside rites. Active pallbearers will include Shane Ferguson, Tyler Ferguson, Stuart Worley, Sean Samples, Clint Hight, Dusty Brown and Brandon Gulledge.
Mr. Garlin will lie in state at the Adairsville Church of God Wednesday from 1:00pm until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
