Mr. Charles Lee Langston, age 72 of Calhoun, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Rome, GA on January 10, 1942, son of the late Richard Hubert Langston and the late Fannie Ruth Langston.
Charles was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served in the US Army Reserves for six years, and was retired from Shaw Industries. He was a member of Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Joann Pierce Langston; three sons, Chuck Langston and his wife Carolyn of Chattanooga, Patrick Langston of Calhoun, and Jeff Langston and his wife Laura of Atlanta; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sandra Langston of Rome; grandchildren, Levi and Marshall Langston; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edna and Danny Parker, Hershel and Tonia Pierce, Roy and Glynese Pierce, Yvonne Sewell, Faye and Ron Bentley, Jimmy and Edie Allen, Linda and Harold Mobley, Virgil and Sue Pierce, Tommy and Michelle Pierce, and Dot and Lewis Bell. Nieces, nephews, special friend Mrs. Emily Oldfield, and other relatives also survive.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Lee Langston will be held Thursday, July 17th at 1:00 PM from Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship Church, with Rev. Hershell Pierce and Rev. Joe Fountain officiating. Music will be arranged by Trey and Andrew Bentley and Elliott Chadwick. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Nathan Rodriguez, Joseph Bell, Matt Bynum, Tommy Reeves, Drew Campbell, Adad Lagunas de Anda, Larry Bain, and Johnny Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Parker, Eddie Wright, Roy Pierce, Larry Garland, Virgil Pierce, Tommy Pierce, Richey Langston, and Don Langston.
The Langston family will receive friends at Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship Church Tuesday, July 15th and Wednesday, July 16th from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship Church, 1927 Rome Road SW, Calhoun, GA 30701.
