Mr. Charles William Tapp, age 71 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Gordon Health Care. He was born in Summerville, GA on September 14, 1940, son of the late Charlie and Bertha Baldwin Tapp. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Ellen Tapp in 2006; two brothers, Johnny Tapp and Horace Tapp; a sister, Betty Slayton; and a grandson, Harry Bates.
Mr. Tapp was retired from Mohawk Industries.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Tapp of Trion, GA; two daughters, Sulynn Bates of Calhoun, and Charlotte Reinert of Kentucky; and a sister, Sarah Wester of Summerville. Grandchildren surviving are Jared Tapp, Terri McWhorter, Sheri Sheldon, Zachary Baker, Ashley Baker, Ben Baker, and Jacob Baker; and great-grandchildren, Allyssa Lyles, Aliza Lyles, Blade Lyles, Julie Sheldon, and Jackson Sheldon. Other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles William Tapp will be held Monday, May 14th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Sanford Deberry officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Daryl Isham, Tim Wester, Zach Baker, Ben Baker, Brian Lyles, and David Jackson.
The Tapp family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
