Charlotte E. Wilson Holsonback, formally of Calhoun, GA. departed this world on December 18, 2009 following a long illness. Charlotte was born in Ridgedale, VA. in Smyth County on November 30, 1925. She is the daughter of the late Heighter James Wilson and Stella Myers Wilson Campbell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, James, Ralf, Marvin, and Eugene Wilson, and stepfather David Campbell all of Raven, VA. Charlotte worked at Gordon Hospital, Gordon County and Floyd County Health Departments, and at Cherokee Nursing Home. She was a member of the Cow Bell Association and volunteered for numerous health causes including the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, W.T. Holsonback of Chatsworth, son Johnny Dixon of Calhoun, daughters, Teresa Rickett of Chatsworth, Donna and her husband Victor Harris of Calhoun, six grandchildren, David Collins, Melissa Cochran, Jeremy Seabolt, Jason Braddy, Dustin Lively, and Stacey Bowen. Two brothers Brittan and his wife Gail Wilson of Lafayette, GA. and Gillis and his wife Lyn Wilson of Sumter, S.C.. 22 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Charlotte Wilson Holsonback will be laid to rest in the Ridgedale Methodist Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family ask in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer Association and the American Cancer Society.
