Cheryl Jan Gordon

Mrs. Cheryl Jan Gordon, age 63 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Calhoun Health Care Center.

She was born on January 22, 1946 in Gordon County, daughter of the late M.L. Allen Jr. and Minnie Lee Tate Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, John (Red) Harkins and Ken Smith, and a stepsister and her husband, Betty and Jack Jones. During her lifetime she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are her two children, Lisa Bigham and Jimmy Bigham; four sisters, Betty Harkins, Bobbie Bearden and her husband Billy; Jimmie James and her husband Julian, and Sue Smith; a brother-in-law, Arnold Ledford; a stepsister, Marie Johnson; and a grandson, Jeremy Gordon. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service for Mrs. Cheryl Jan Gordon will be conducted Sunday at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Music will be arranged by Kiawanna Johnson. Honorary escort will be the staff of Calhoun Health Care Center. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 1:00pm until the service hour of 3:00pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Cheryl Gordon to the Calhoun Health Care Activities Program, 1387 Hwy 41 North, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
