Cheryl Borders Mathis, 62, of Sugar Valley, died at Gordon Hospital on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Cheryl was born in Largo, Florida on January 12, 1955; she was the daughter of the late Joe and Eva Hamilton Borders. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Wesley Armstrong. For more than twenty-eight years, Cheryl managed the Circle K Store on Carbondale Road, She was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bobby Mathis; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jessica Armstrong; her daughter and son-in-law, Hope and Shandell Cooper; her grandchildren, Christopher Kammeraad, Danyelle Kammeraad, Sebastian Armstrong, Kelsiana Armstrong, Elias Armstrong, and Amaiyah Armstrong; her sisters-in-law, Chris Withrow, Patty Mathis, Donna Mathis, and Linda Long; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Mathis; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Mathis family will receive friends at Sugar Valley Baptist Church on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. from Sugar Valley Baptist Church. Rev. Mitch Phillips will officiate. Burt Jeffords and Turning Point will have charge of music.
