Chip James

Mr. Charles Webster (Chip) James, age 25 of Calhoun, died Friday, October 5, 2012 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Gordon County on July 21, 1987, son of Melanie Quinn and the late Johnny James. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandfather, James C. Quinn.

Chip was an avid softball player and fisherman, and was employed with Apache Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Shannon Lynn Dillard; a son, Bly James; a brother and sister-in-law, Stacey and Melinda James; a sister, Kristen Yates; Mother, Melanie Quinn, step-father, Steve Moore; and grandmother, Gayle Quinn, all of Calhoun. Aunts, uncles, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Webster (Chip) James will be held Sunday, October 7th at 3:00pm from the Trinity Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Brandon Putnam, Tyler Putnam, David Gutierrez, Sean Dufour, Dustin Wilbanks, Christopher Stephens, and Alex Bell. These gentlemen are requested to assemble at the funeral home Sunday at 1:15pm. Honorary pallbearers are Stacey James, Tyler Plemmons, Adam Gray, Heath Neal, Dustin Loftis, and Billy Lorren. They may meet at Trinity Baptist Church Sunday at 2:45.

The family will receive friends at Trinity Baptist Church Saturday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.

Chip's body will remain at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday until 1:30pm, and then will be taken to Trinity Baptist Church where he will lie in state from 2:00pm until the funeral hour of 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family ask contributions be made to the Bly James educational fund at North Georgia National Bank.
