Obituary

Christal "Christie" Marlene (Mulkey) Watkins, 50, of Calhoun, died early Friday morning, February 12, 2021, in the Emergency Department at AdventHealth Gordon following an apparent heart attack.
Christie was born in Calhoun, Georgia on October 28, 1971, daughter of Emma Hall Copeland and the late Robert Mulkey. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Mulkey VanKirk. She was a member of the 1991 graduating class of Fairmount High School, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Travis Scott Watkins of Calhoun, a daughter, Nacole Cox and her husband Michael of Calhoun; son, Kevin Watkins of Calhoun; one grandchild, Lason Cox; sister, Tina Mulkey Wilcox; brothers, David Mulkey, Jeffrey Mulkey, Alan Mulkey and Terry Mulkey along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
It was Christies request to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family asked that flowers be omitted and contributions can be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses,
