Christine Rogers Champion

Mrs. Christine Rogers Champion, age 78 of Fairmount, GA, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Calhoun. She was a life-long resident of Gordon County, born on December 23, 1933, to the late Claude and Edith Ballew Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Rogers, R.B. Rogers, and Wayne Rogers; and a sister, Louise Morris. She was a member of Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church near Fairmount.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Brady Champion of Fairmount; two brothers, Larry Rogers of Fairmount, and Ronnie Rogers and his wife Brenda, of Calhoun; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Rogers Champion will be held at 2:00pm Friday from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Todd Lacey, Jerry Ballew, Donald Morris, Nat Ackerman, Joe Richardson, and Jeff Champion. Music will be arranged by Rebecca Champion.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.
