Obituary
Mr. Clyde Lee (C.L.) Craig, 92, of Cartersville, Georgia, formerly of Calhoun, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020, following several months of declining health.
Mr. Craig was born in Gordon County, Georgia on May 21, 1928, son of the late Guy Edward Craig and Maude Mae Thompson Craig. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward Craig.
Mr. Craig loved and cherished his family and friends. He was proud of his Gordon County roots that ran deep. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, he enjoyed gardening and was a man with many talents. He enjoyed working with his hands, building things out of wood, he was a craftsman and builder and was retired from Lockheed Martin of Marietta as a Master Tool Planner. He loved his church and church family at Meadowdale Baptist Church where he and his wife Martha were members.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Martha West Craig of Cartersville, two daughters; Constance Manders and Denise and Tony McClure, son; Gary Kinman and his fianc Janet Fuss, grandchildren; Jared Jordan, Wade Touchtone, Tammy and Donald Baker, and Joshua and Donna Bruce, five great-grandchildren; Brittany Thacker, Kylee Bruce and her fianc Edward Donehoo, Ashlee Bruce, Chase Thacker, Baylee Bruce, and one great-great-grandson, EJ Donehoo along with other relatives. Special friends; Greg and Beth Masters, Sarah Franklin, and Melissa Franklin.
It was Mr. Craigs wish to be cremated. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM at Fain Cemetery on October 31, 2020, with Pastor Drew Startup officiating.
The family would especially like to thank Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville Nursing Center, and Assured Hospice Care of Cartersville for the love and care C.L. received.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and if you so choose, contributions may be given in Mr. Craig's memory to Meadowdale Baptist Church, 1811 Rome Road SW, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
