Mr. James Clark Bunyard Jr., age 66 of Calhoun, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at his residence after experiencing declining health.
Mr. Bunyard was born in Memphis, TN on October 22, 1946, son of the late James Clark Bunyard Sr. and Virginia Townsend Bunyard.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Viet Nam War. He received many commendations and awards. He retired from OMNOVA Solutions, Calhoun, in 2009.
Clark and his wife Polly lived in the Dews Pond area for the past 17 years. Before Clark's health begin to decline, he loved to play golf, travel and spend time with his family and friends.
Clark is survived by his wife, Polly Davenport Bunyard, to whom he was married for 17 years; a son, Adam Bunyard of Marietta, GA: a step-daughter, Janet Davenport of Calhoun; a step-son, Jeff Davenport of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Tyler Bunyard and Kinsley Bunyard of Marietta; a sister, Beth Agee and brother-in-law Douglas Agee; and nephews, James Agee of Madison, AL, and Jason, Richard, and Michael Chance, and James Reid.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of James Clark Bunyard Jr. will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions be made in Clark's memory to Antioch Baptist Church, Christian Family Life Center, 2666 Dews Pond Rd, Calhoun, GA 30701.
