Clata Rhea Crider

Clata Rhea Crider, 87, of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on November 25, 1936, to the late Lester and Lola Mae Glenn Priest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her first husband, J.B. Hall; second husband, Richard Crider; brothers, Tom Priest, William Priest, Danny Priest, Gary Priest; sister, Georgia Mae Hensley; grandson, John David Todd, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Russell Hall and Johnny Hall; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Morton, Regina and Michael Chamlee; brothers, Earl Priest, Raymond Priest, Steve Priest; sisters, Lois Crump, Orbra Jean Holcomb, Rose Mary McDougle; grandchildren, Russ Hall, Jr., Dusty Hall, Todd VanHouten, Katlyn VanHouten, Kenneth Morton; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Clata was a candy striper, serving first in Tennessee, and later in Calhoun. It was in the emergency room that she met her first husband, J.B. Hall. She later worked in numerous roles at The Rooker Hotel in downtown Calhoun, and eventually retired from Mohawk Industries.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons with Dr. Garry Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Michael Chamlee, Russ Hall, Jr., Dusty Hall, Gary Priest, Jr., and Edward Holcomb.
