Claude Frady

April 6, 1921 — February 17, 2011

WWII veteran Mr. Warren C. "Claude" Frady, age 89 of Calhoun, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on April 6, 1921, son of the late James Levi and Elsie F. Frady. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy C. Frady; a sister, Eva Baynes Roper; and a nephew, Lamar Gravitt.

Mr. Frady was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Navy Seabees, 57th Division in the South Pacific and Okinawa. He was a member of Sonora Lodge #112, and had served as a deacon of the Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Daphene Gravitt Frady; a nephew, Rickey Stone and his wife Pat; a niece, Pam Gravitt; great nieces and nephews, Josh Stone and his wife Sheryl, Julie Stone, and Jason and Jamie Gravitt; a great-great niece, Peyton Stone; and a sister-in-law, Florence "Bill" Frady, all of Calhoun. Other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Warren C. "Claude" Frady will be conducted Sunday, February 20th at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Dr. William Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with military honors, and Rev. Randy Muse conducting the committal service. Music will be arranged by Katherine Quinn. Active pallbearers include Ronald Sexton, Jimmy Owens, Bobby Blackstock, Brian Baxter, Jerry Bearden, and Richard Bowen. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 2:15pm.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
