Clayton 'Julio' D. Long

Mr. Clayton D. "Julio" Long, 54 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, following a brief illness. He was born in Germany on November 12, 1962, son of Elaine Marie Burke and the late Robert Johnson Long.
Julio was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy. He was employed with DDW as a welder.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Irene Long; his son, Andrew Long of Williamsburg, KY; his mother, Elaine Marie Burke; step-son, Mario Porras of Dalton; a step-daughter, Christy Olivares and her husband Juan of Calhoun; brothers, Norman Long of Moorehead, KY, and Steve Long of Jacksonville; a sister, Gwen Long of Moorehead; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wilma and Guenter Schmitz; grandchildren, Summer Long, Ivan Martinez, Araceli Martinez, Aurianna Dominguez, Jacqulion Acevedo, Keenan Schmitz, Cory James, Kylie Monroe Porras, and Ezra Porras; and a great-grandchild, Imani Heaven James.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Clayton D. "Julio" Long will held Sunday, August 13th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Sean Belcher and Rev. Zachary Belcher officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Norman Long, Steve Long, Heath Hudgins, Mario Porras, Cory James, and Keenan Schmitz. Honorary pallbearers are Juan Olivares and T.J. Maddox.
The Long family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 11th, and Saturday, August 12th, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
