Clayton Lee Hancock

Mr. Clayton Lee Hancock, age 62 of Ranger, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on April 10, 1946, son of the late Clemon and Bertie Lee Green Hancock. Mr. Hancock was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Stone Hancock; four daughters, Amber Hancock, Michelle Rogers and her husband Chris, Nichole Stone and her husband Bobby Lee, and Keisha Chastain; seven brothers, John Hancock and his wife Ann of Chattanooga, Curtis Hancock and his wife Alene, Jacky Hancock, David Hancock and his wife Nancy, and Clarence Hancock, all of Fairmount, Gary Hancock of Calhoun, and Steve Hancock of Tennessee; seven sisters, Annie Mae Owens and her husband Ellis of Oakman, Wilma Brookshire of Ranger, Dymple Townsend and her husband Arvel of Fairmount, Sue Goble and her husband James of Fairmount, Nancy Cox and her husband Colbert of Calhoun, Patsy Patterson and her husband Ray of Eton, and Glynese Pierce and her husband Roy of Calhoun. Brothers-in-law, Chris Stone and his wife Sabrina of Calhoun, and Glen Stone and his wife Tonia; and six grandchildren, Jalan Rogers, Austin Easterwood, Chelsey Easterwood, Jordon Stone, Faith Townsend, and Dakota Mathews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Clayton Lee Hancock will be conducted Wednesday, August 13 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Hubert Pack and Rev. Delmar Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in Crane Eater Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Eric Stone, Nicholas Hancock, Bobby Lee Stone, Rocky Stone, Steve Jackson, and Jacob Stone. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:15pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday after 5:00pm.
