Clemmie Pankey

Mrs. Clemmie Pankey, age 78 of Ranger, GA died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on September 8, 1934, daughter of the late Bert and Mossie Underwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvell Pankey; two brothers, Stewart Underwood and Charlie Underwood; and a brother-in-law, Herman Brock of McRae, GA.

Mrs. Pankey was a homemaker during her lifetime, and was of the Church of God faith.

She leaves behind three sons, Lamar Pankey of Resaca, Randy Pankey of Ranger, and Ray Pankey and his wife Dena of Calhoun; two daughters, Dianne Lutz and her husband David, and Carol Pankey, all of Ranger; two brothers and sisters-in-law, J.P. and Pat Underwood of Acworth, and Tony and Jackie Underwood of Ranger; and a sister, Mertle Brock of McRae. Grandchildren surviving are Amber and Chad Cochran, Whitney Pankey, Anna and Hunter Lutz, Jeremy Lockard, and Gabbi Pankey; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, and Emma Cochran, Rhidyer Pankey, Logan and Wyatt Hunton, Addy Riley, and Lacie Hamilton. Other survivors include a very special sister-in-law, Jimmy Underwood, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clemmie Pankey will be held Thursday, June 27th at 11:00 am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Calvin Anderson, Rev. Brian Anderson, and Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Chad Cochran, Michael Underwood, Jeremy Lockard, Steve Gray, Glenn Kelley, and Matthew Widener. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne McIntosh, Earl Riley, Gene "Bull" Matthews, and Jason Hunton.

The Pankey family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
