Mrs. Cleo Howard McEntyre, 87 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at her home following several weeks of declining health. She was born in Fulton County, GA on February 17, 1928, daughter of the late Robert W. and Ophelia Tatum Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kent McEntyre in 1975.
Mrs. McEntyre was a 1945 graduate of Sonoraville High School. She had retired after 40 years as Secretary of Sonoraville Elementary and Sonoraville East Middle School. She was an avid reader, loving word puzzles and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of Soul's Harvest Church.
Survivors include her son, Mike McEntyre; granddaughter, Valerie and L.J. Boston, and their children, Abigail, Layne, and Fletcher; her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Pam McEntyre; granddaughter, Chanda and David Padgett, and their children, Elijah and Zeke; grandson, Jonathon and Sarah McEntyre, and their children, Jackson, Claire, Norah, and Sullivan; and grandson, Andrew and Jessica McEntyre, and their children, Applyn and Ansel. Many well-loved nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Cleo Howard McEntyre will be held Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 AM from Soul's Harvest Church, with Rev. Anthony Jeffords and Rev. Edwin Puckett officiating. Interment will follow in Tate Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Josh Jeffords, Logan Jeffords, Louie McEntyre, Donald Gallman, Donald McReynolds, and Adam McReynolds.
The McEntyre family will receive friends at Soul's Harvest Church on Friday, May 29th from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
