Obituary

Clistia Parker Cartee, 70, of Calhoun, died Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Gordon Health Care following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on April 6, 1949, daughter of the late Henry Grady and Jessie Kay Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Glenn Cartee in 2010; and her brothers, Freeman Parker, Rayford Parker, and Kenneth Parker.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jimmy Womack of Johns Island, SC; her grandchildren, Christopher James Womack and Kassie A. Mann; her great grandson, Connor James Mann; her sisters, Bobbie Parker Mattos, and Louise Parker Nelson, both of Calhoun; her God Grandchild, Bethany Blevins; her former husband, Melvin Meadows; and her lifelong friend, Shirley Slaughter.
Services to honor the life of Clistia Parker Cartee will be held Monday, April 22nd at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
