Clyde Gilbert

Mr. Clyde "Dooley" Gilbert age 63 of the Erwin Hill Community died early Monday in Gordon Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Gilbert was born in Gordon County on July 2nd, 1944; son of Ora Foster Gilbert and the late John Herschel Gilbert. He was a member of New Town Baptist Church and was employed by Fafnir Bearing Company.

Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Joan Wofford Gilbert and by two sons; Jeffery Clyde Gilbert and his wife Stacie of Calhoun and Brian Kevin Gilbert of Calhoun. One brother, Charles Gilbert and his wife Priseilla of Rossville, GA. One granddaughter,Taylor Gilbert of Calhoun and a special aunt and uncle, Opal and John Chamlee of Calhoun.

Funeral services for Mr. Clyde "Dooley" Gilbert will be conducted Wednesday December 19th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Winfred Casey officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Carmen Free Green. Pallbearers serving will include Rayford Gilbert, Jim McClain, Harold Dale, Kenny Owen, Bobby Carney, Jimmy Blalock and Michael Gilbert.

The family will begin receiving friends Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 until 8:00 PM.
