C.M. Harrison

Mr. C.M. Harrison, age 84 of Sugar Valley, GA passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Whitfield County on October 10, 1928, son of the late Gorge W. Jones and Lillie Cook Harrison Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Kinsey Harrison; brothers and sisters, Paul Jones of Sugar Valley, C.L. Harrison of Dalton, Etta Blansit of Rossville, Glenda Tapp of Calhoun, James Jones of Tunnel Hill, and Ralph Jones of Rome; and a grandson, Michael Brandon Harrison.

Mr. Harrison was a veteran, serving in the US Army. He was employed in the textile industry, and was retired from Wal Mart.

Survivors include three sons, Randall Harrison and his wife Kathy of Sugar Valley, Donald Harrison of Calhoun, and Jeffery Harrison and his wife Rosemary of Calhoun; two daughters, Debra Jackson and her husband Gary of Resaca, and Susan Hall and her husband Steve of Calhoun; three brothers, Charles Jones of Maysville, GA, Lamar Jones of Hartwell, GA, and Marvin Jones of Calhoun; and three sisters, Ellen Jackson of Hartwell, Lula May Jones of Santa Rosa, CA, and Irene Hunsucker of Warner Robins, GA. Grandchildren surviving are Christy Harrison, Jared Harrison, Eric Hall, Kenneth Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Shane Hall, Aaron Hall, Amber Harrison, Destiny Harrison and a step grandson, James Andrew Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Anthony Harrison, Brittany Fite, Jeremy Bray, and Drake Bray. Other survivors include three sisters-in-law, Joyce Kinsey Rogers, Carolyn Kinsey and Marie Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. C.M. Harrison will be held Tuesday, January 8th at 2:00pm from the Nellie Peters United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dennis Jarvis officiating. Mr. Harrison will lie in state at the church from 1:00pm until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers include Jared Harrison, Andrew Jackson, Gary Jackson, James Phifer, Jeremy Bray, and Drake Bray. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Mathis, Jimmy Payne, Michael Harrison, and Carlton Rogers.

The Harrison family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday after 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Nellie Peters UMC or the United Methodist Children's Home.
