Mr. Curtis Eugene Cronan, 78 of Ranger, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Gordon Hospital following several years of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on February 17, 1938, son of the late John Miller Cronan and the late Lossie Seabolt Cronan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Peggy Cronan, Lloyd and Maggie Cronan, Floyd and Gracie Cronan, Raymond and Dorothy Cronan, Newman and Barbara Cronan, and Roy Cronan.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Mae Thomason Cronan; his son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Gina Cronan; his daughters and son-in-law, Denise and Reed Childers, and Deloris Cronan, all of Ranger; grandchildren, Amber Childers, Kellie (Tim) Tidwell, Kala Childers, Dylan Cronan, and Kieanna (Brandon) Cummings; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Tidwell, Emory Hill, Chevy Massey, and Noah Childers; brother-in-law, Gene Thomason; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mack and Lillian Thomason; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Curtis Eugene Cronan will be held Tuesday, June 7th at 1:00 PM from Maple Grove Baptist Church, where Mr. Cronan was a member. Rev. Johnny Payne and Rev. Gene Thomason will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Dylan Cronan, Donald Thomason, Marshall Watson, Jeff Thomason, Brandon Cummings, and Daniel Sartin. Honorary pallbearers are the loving caregivers of Calhoun Healthcare Center.
The Cronan family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, June 6th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
A special thank you from the family to Calhoun Healthcare Center for taking care of Curtis for four years with love and care. An extra special thank you to the staff of Gordon Hospital for going above and beyond their call of duty to take care of him. They are truly angels on earth. Also thanks to Tapestry Hospice.
