Cynthia Jordan Self

October 24, 1921 — December 14, 2008

Mrs. Cynthia Jordan Self age 87, of Adairsville, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Gordon Health Care Center. She was born in Bartow County on October 24, 1921, daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna Edwards Jordan. She worked for O.J. Mills for many years and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.

Mrs. Self was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Taylor Self; a brother, Fain Jordan, Sr., two sisters, Rossie Pelfrey and Webbie Jordan, and a niece, Joann Jordan.

Survivors include nephews, Fain Jordan and his wife Patsy, Marty Jordan and his wife Helen, Danny Pelfrey and his wife Wanda, and Steve Pelfrey and his wife Judy; nieces, Wilma Chitwood, Ginger Blaylock, and Linda Darby; and a host of great nieces and great nephews. A number of great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Jordan Self will be conducted Tuesday, December 16 at 1:00pm from the Concord Baptist Church, with Rev. Sammy Allen, Rev. Fain Jordan, Jr., and Rev. Danny Pelfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Adairsville. Active pallbearers will include Blake Jordan, Ben Jordan, Jake Chitwood, Rian Chitwood, Chaney Walden, and Jamey Pelfrey. These gentlemen are asked to meet at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
