Mrs. Daisy Dean, age 80 of Honea Path, South Carolina and formerly of Gordon County, passed away May 20, 2008 at the Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. She was born on March 31, 1928, daughter of the late James and Stella Shipman Stanfield, and was a homemaker during her lifetime.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dean, a son, Jack Dean, a brother, Doyle Stanfield, and two sisters, Bea Parker and Betty Mullins.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Dean and his wife Deb of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Eddie Dean of Honea Path, South Carolina; four daughters, Freda Kirby and her husband A.C. of Calhoun, Jean Harrington and her husband Jay of Milledgeville, Georgia, Charlene Tillery and her husband Ronnie of Somerset, Kentucky, and Ellen Cantrell of Rockwell, North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Deb Stanfield of Chatsworth, Georgia; and three sisters, Kathy Lott and her husband Jasper of Calhoun, Louise Madden of Acworth, Georgia, and Bessie Hale and her husband Travis of Calhoun. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Dean will be conducted Thursday, May 22, at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Max "Bud" Fuller and Rev. Scott Fickes officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial Baptist Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
