Daisy Garland

Mrs. Daisy Garland, age 87 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gilmer County on May 18, 1920, daughter of the late Harmon and Lily Davis Smith. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Mrs. Garland was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Garland; a daughter, Martha "Pat" Glass; one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Shirley and Joe Fountain of Calhoun; four grandchildren; Kay Ullom, Debbie Duke, Michelle Meadows, and Mandy Fite; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Garland will be conducted Tuesday, August 14 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Joe Fountain and Robert T. Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Chris Rittenhouse, Stephanie Rittenhouse, Josh Brown, Chris Meadows, Corey Meadows, and Michelle Meadows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday after 4:00pm.
