Dale Jean Lockard Sr

Mr. Dale Jean Lockard, Sr., age 73 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Gordon Health Care. He was born in Canton, Ohio on May 29, 1940, son of the late Earl and Goldie Kline Lockard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Lockard of Florida.

Dale loved to fish and hunt, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army, and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves behind his children, Dale Lockard, Jr. of Calhoun, Earl Lockard of Calhoun, Chris Lockard and his wife Callie of Sonoraville, Donna Barker and her husband Steve of Adairsville, Loretta Taylor and her husband Chris of Calhoun, and Denise Silvers and her husband Bobby of Sonoraville; brothers, David Lockard and his wife Joyce of Savannah, GA, Howard Lockard and his wife Sharon of Maryland, Billy Lockard of Holmesville, Ohio, Tom Lockard and his wife Mary Jane of Apple Creek, Ohio, and Rusty Lockard of Toledo, Ohio; and a sister, Judy Wright and her husband Benny of Millersburg, Ohio. Grandchildren surviving are Emily Lockard, Megan Lockard, Sara Lockard, Cody Lockard, Jeremy Lockard, Hunter Lockard, Jessica Phillips, Laura Black, Elizabeth Taylor, Jonathon Silvers, Landon Silvers, and Tristan Lockard; and great-grandchildren, Zander Taylor, Kaylee Mills, Brantley Phillips, and Kandence Lockard. Other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Dale Jean Lockard, Sr. will be held Thursday, March 13th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Chaplain Terry Combs officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with military honors.

The Lockard family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
