Obituary

Mark (Danny) Hensley, 66, of Calhoun, GA died Monday, September 21, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 15, 1954, in Calhoun, GA to the late Mark Dan and Annie Lou Conaway Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Head and Betty Taggart.
Prior to retirement, Danny was the owner of North Georgia Tree Services and Hensley Homes. He loved the outdoors, spending time at his river home on the Coosa River, fishing for catfish and hunting for deer and turkey. He was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church where he was a member of "Missionaries on Bikes" and very involved in the church outreach ministry. He will be missed dearly by the ones he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Marlene Delp Hensley; sons, Matthew Daniel Hensley (Tiffany Elaine) and Michael Chad Blankenship; brother, Daryl Hensley; sisters, Kathryn Allen and Theresa Burnette (Glenn); grandchildren, Chelsea Bryn Hensley and Cambry Bley Hensley; brothers-in-law; Dave Taggart and Richard Head, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
A service to celebrate Dannys life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 2:00 PM from Meadowdale Baptist Church with Pastor Drew Startup, Rev. Brian Holland and Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Music will be arranged by Faye Pierce Bentley. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Jerry Hufstetler, Doug Massingill, Charlie Dempsey, Brandon Knight, David Knight, Rodney Babb, Brian Roberts, and Nathan Rickett. Honorary pallbearers include; Randy Seabolt, David Bryant, Danny Goswick, Don Mincey, Jimmy Fox, Larry Clark, Troy Dutton, Ed Boswell, Kevin Phipps, Jack Bibb, Jon Black, Travis Stephens, Jeff Martin, and Sydney Autry.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 12:00 PM until the service hour of 2:00 PM at Meadowdale Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Meadowdale Baptist Church, 1811 Rome Road SW in Dannys memory.
For those attending the visitation and funeral service, face coverings will be required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
