Danny Joseph Baldwin

Mr. Danny Joseph Baldwin, age 66 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was a native of Gordon County, born on May 29, 1947 to the late Jess and Naomi Cornelison Baldwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Baldwin; a special niece, Heather Baldwin; and an aunt, Elma Griffin.

Danny was retired from Ackley Maintenance in Kennesaw. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army, and serving a tour of duty in Vietnam for 14 months.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved working with wood.

Danny leaves behind his wife, Peggy Grogan Baldwin; two sons, Lee Baldwin and his wife Lisa, and Daniel Baldwin, all of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Shelia Baldwin of Rome; a sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and Howard Austeen of Villa Rica; and grandchildren, Jessica Baldwin and Allie Baldwin. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Tara (Matt) Brown of Calhoun, Brian (Lauren) Dupree of Orlando, FL, and Debbie (Ronnie) Sims of Jackson, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Millie Whitfield of Bremen, Ray and Betty Grogan, L.C. and Janie Grogan, and Jim and Nancy Luckett, all of Calhoun; James Grogan of Palm Coast, FL, and Sharon Grogan and the late Rupert Grogan of Calhoun; and special friends, Glenn and Nelda Faith of Calhoun.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Danny Joseph Baldwin will be held Friday, April 11th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. William Roberts and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chandler Padgett, Eric Shaw, Christopher Wilson, A.J. Jaime, Brian Grogan, and Ryan Luckett.

The Baldwin family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
