Mrs. Daphne Dutton Beason, age 88, of Calhoun, passed away Monday January 1, 2007 at Gordon Health Care Center. She was born in Gordon County on June 28, 1918, daughter of the late Robert and Laura Dobson Dutton. Mrs. Beason was a homemaker, and a member of the Sonora Eastern Star and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Guy Beason on February 28, 2004, and by a brother, Hulon Dutton.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Beason Wright and her husband Richard of Calhoun; and one son, William Beason and his wife Letha of Calhoun. A brother, Billy Dutton and his wife Wyonelle; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and nephews; Dick Dutton and Mitch Dutton also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Daphne Beason will be conducted Wednesday, January 3rd, at 3:00pm from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Larry Naylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Beason will lie in state at the church from 2:00pm until the funeral hour. Active pall bearers will include Keith Beason, Kolin Beason, Howard King, Donnie Sutton, Phillip Parker, and Mitch Dutton. The Beason family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday between the hours of 7:00pm and 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
