Darlene Quarles

Virginia Darlene Quarles, age 56 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Gordon Hospital following several years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on June 12, 1958, daughter of the late Harold and Mable Hazelwood Quarles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deshae Turner, and a grandchild, Shadaia Turner.

Darlene attended Red Bud Schools and had been employed with Carriage Industries.

She leaves behind a son, Courtney Peardon; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Aletae Quarles; a sister, Donna Hightower; and grandchildren, Cianah Turner and Akalia Peardon, all of Calhoun. A niece, nephews, and aunts and uncles also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Virginia Darlene Quarles will be held Tuesday, December 2nd at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Quarles, Rev. Walter Bohannon, and Rev. Marvin Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Ross Quarles, Zach Quarles, Kyle Clark, and Jay Holsomback.

The Quarles family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM.
