Obituary
James David Etheridge, 65, of Calhoun, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his home, following several months of declining health. He was born in Murray County, GA on January 24, 1953. He was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Isenhower; sister-in-law, Sue Etheridge; mother-in-law, Emma Ruth Stone Skidmore; father-in-law, Walter Skidmore; nephew, Daniel Morgan; and niece, Katrina Etheridge.
David was a great Christian family man. He loved his granddaughters, fishing, and the outdoors. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army, and was a member of Hill City Baptist Church. He was employed with Bailey Company for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda Gail Skidmore Etheridge; his mother, Frankie Isenhower; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Anita Etheridge; his daughter, Alison Bennett; brothers and sister-in-law, Jackie Etheridge, Steve Skidmore, Jerry Skidmore, and Rockey and Lani Skidmore; sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Larry Holsomback, Yvonne Stanfield, Joan Davis, and Donna Isenhower; grandchildren, Katlyn Etheridge, Jenna Etheridge, and Emma Bennett; and family by choice, Gene and Cheryl Erwin.
Services to honor the life of James David Etheridge will be held Saturday, November 17th at 3:00 PM from Hill City Baptist Church, with Rev. Barry Brock officiating. Music will be arranged by the Stone Family. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jackie Etheridge, Ralph Cannon, Justin Skidmore, Gene Erwin, Steve Skidmore, Jerry Skidmore, and Rocky Skidmore. Honorary pallbearers are his work family at the Bailey Company.
The family will receive friends at Hill City Baptist Church on Friday, November 16th from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
