David Neighbors

Mr. David "Good Neighbor" Neighbors, 66 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Whitfield County on December 14, 1950, son of the late Charlie William and Betty Jean Beech Neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Neighbors; and grandparents, Patrick and Lillie Brock, and Thomas and Jennie Neighbors.
David enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and helping people. He adored his wife, and his family was his world. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Patricia Brookshire Neighbors; his son, Chad Neighbors; his daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Mark Gann; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jane Neighbors; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Nevin Pulliam, Vickie and Jeff ONeil, Pat and Bo Baker, and Carol and David Pack; grandchildren, Hannah Neighbors, Haley Neighbors, Tanner Neighbors, Paige Gann, Judah Gann, Ben Gann, and Levi Gann; and great-grandchildren, Leevi Neighbors, Mae Lynn Neighbors, and Ryker Neighbors.
Services to honor the life of Mr. David "Good Neighbor" Neighbors will be held Friday, September 1st at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Hunt and Joseph ONeil officiating. Interment will follow in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Anthony Carroll, Mitchell Dodd, Jeff ONeil, Charlie Baker, Jay Johnson, and Stacy Worthington. Honorary pallbearers are Tanner Neighbors, Steven ONeil, James Steele, Adel Brookshire, Dale Silvers, Kenneth Patterson, and Nevin Pulliam.
The Neighbors family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 31st from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
