David Wayne Chastain

David Wayne Chastain, 75, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away in his home on Friday, March 7, 2025. He was born in Trion, Georgia, on December 6, 1949, to the late Arvil Beecher and Thelma Lucille Chastain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Betty Ann Chastain; brothers, Jerry Chastain and Sidney (Bobbie) Chastain; sister, Melinda Owensby.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Charlotte Chastain; brothers, Ronald (Martha) Chastain, Sammy Chastain, Stanley (Claudette) Chastain, Lyndon (Synthia) Chastain; brother-in-law, James (Charlene) Owensby; sisters-in-law, Sue Bramlett, Mary Singleton, Roxie Chastain; nieces and nephews, Charlice Defore, Tim Chastain, Sabrina Pepper, Regenia Harris, Keith Chastain, Kevin Chastain, Stacy Mathena, Shawn Stafford, Joey Stafford, Christina Stafford, Denise Thurman, Dewayne Chastain, Jason Pace, Heather Martinez, Anthony Owensby, Angel Holcombe, Hollie Pelivi, Eric Owensby, Mandi Gentry, Casey Fowler, Jonas Fowler, and Russell Bramlett also survive.

David enjoyed fishing, tinkering, and anything mechanical. He liked to build and fly RC airplanes. He also enjoyed panning for gold. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a lead mechanic for Shaheen Carpet Mills.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Keith Chastain, Kevin Chastain, Mason Chastain, Dewayne Chastain, Casey Fowler, and Steven Holcombe.
