Lou Dean Parker, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024.

She was born in Dahlonega, Georgia, on March 9, 1939, to the late James Rem and Zora Anderson Self. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Griffin Parker; stepson, Richard Parker; brothers, J.R. Self, Bernard Self, Marvin Self, and G.W. Self; sister, Alice Jean Burns; and daughter-in-law, Dian Willis.

Lou Dean is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Hope Parker, Johnny Willis, Scott and Royslene Parker; stepson, Timothy “Chip” Parker; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Gabe McFarland, Ashley Silvers; stepdaughter, Teresa Harris; grandchildren, Ricky Blade Parker, Alexis Summer Parker, Taylor Patterson, Johnny Eugene Willis, Shane Griffin, Kim Bishop, and Nicole Thomas; great-grandchildren, Justin Willis, Tony Griffin, Ivy Silvers, Georgia McFarland, Maycie Roberts, Charlie Parker, Nash Jackson Patterson, Cohen Patterson, Sierra Griffin and Meleah Willis Cronin.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM from Barrett Road Church of God with Rev. Norris Sexton and Rev. Brian Childs officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hope Cemetery in Floyd County. Pallbearers are Blade Parker, Tony Kimsey, Lonnie Self, Kent Thomas, Gerald Self, Billy Silvers, and Justin Willis. Greg Carver will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
