Mrs. Delores Carroll, age 60 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at a Rome hospital. She was born in Floyd County on August 11, 1949, daughter of the late James Oscar Peardon and the late Aileen Kinsey Peardon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Peardon and John Peardon; a niece, Deshae Turner; and a great-niece, Shadedae Turner.
Mrs. Carroll was a homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Paul Carroll; two daughters, Penny Baker of Calhoun, and Joy Baker of LaFayette; a brother, Joe Richard Peardon of Calhoun; and two sisters, Arlene Freeman and her husband Stanley, and Gail Ambrosini, all of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Brittany Clifton and Skylar Clifton; and a step-grandchild, Kelsey Clifton. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Delores Carroll will be conducted Tuesday, July 27th at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Thomas and Rev. Wes Gazaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Alan Waddell, Michael Fuller, Glenn "Bubba" Miller, Derrick Kinsey, Chris Peardon, Scott Shelton, and Justin Selman. Honorary pallbearers are Lonnie Carroll and Wayne Waddell.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
