Mrs. Dimple Sexton Gallman Rogers, age 88 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 at Gordon Health Care following three months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on December 21, 1919, daughter of the late M.C. and Viola Couch Sexton. Mrs. Rogers was retired from Calhoun Spinning, and was of the Church of God faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Burton Rogers; children, Jimmy and Jenevie Gallman, and brothers, McKinley Sexton, L.V. Sexton, B.W. Sexton, and Max Sexton.
Survivors include three daughters, Colleen Tatum and her husband Bill, Margie Clance and her husband Bud, and Fredia Clance; a special friend, Ed Clance; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Hershel and Shelba Sexton and Norris and Wilma Sexton, of Calhoun; and three sisters, Opal Wable of Calhoun, Jewel Kiser of Cartersville, and Virginia Burch of Calhoun. Eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dimple Sexton Gallman Rogers will be conducted Wednesday, August 6 at 2:00pm from Trinity Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Tatum, Bud Clance, Ed Clance and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Greg Clance, Jay Tatum, Wynne Clance, Jeff Clance, Tim Langston, and Ronnie Crane. These gentlemen are asked to meet at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:00pm. Honorary pallbearers are great grandchildren, employees of Gordon Health Care, Donnie Sexton, Daryl Sexton, and Doug Sexton, and they may meet at Trinity Baptist Church Wednesday at 1:45pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday evening between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
