Donald Barton

Mr. Donald Madison Barton, 65 of Calhoun, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Gordon Hospital following several years of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on July 18, 1950, son of the late Madison Buren Barton and the late Johnnie Mae Muse Barton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Barton; a son, Donald M. Barton, Jr.; a sister, Helen Ellis; and a nephew, Shane Barton.

Prior to his illness, Donald had been employed with Shaw Industries.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Ramona Barton of Tunnel Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra and Terry Hardin of Tunnel Hill; brothers, Jerry Barton and Delbert Barton, both of Calhoun; sisters, Sharion Stewart of Calhoun, and Nelda Reed of Paduca, KY; grandchildren, Caleb Hardin, Jacob Hardin, Michelle Hardin, Gregory (Katlyn) Barton, Amber (Matthew) Brown, Bridget Barton, Craig Barton, and Julieaunna Barton; and great-grandchildren, Camron Hardin, Gregory R. Barton, Jr., Braxton Barton, Sophia Barton, Maddilin Brown, and Abbygail Brown. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Donald Madison Barton will be held Tuesday, February 16th at 2:00 PM from the Sugar Valley Church of God, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Old Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Gregory Barton, Craig Barton, Caleb Hardin, Wade Bell, Garrett Bell, Nicolas Roe, and Lee Ulman.

The Barton family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, February 15th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
