Donald Daniel

Mr. Donald H. Daniel, 82, of Calhoun, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Mt. Berry Hospice. He was born in Whitwell, TN, on August 2, 1935, son of the late Rev. H.A. and Lena Keith Daniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Mickey Daniel and Jerry Daniel; and his first wife, and mother of his children, Joanne Gilreath Daniel.
Donald was a member of the 1953 graduating class of Calhoun High School, where he was a member of the Basketball and Track teams. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church since 1956, and was a member of the Sportsmans Sunday School Class, Church Choir, Mens Quartet, and was a Deacon. Prior to his retirement, he was a Loan Officer with Calhoun First National Bank.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Margie Black Daniel; his sons, Craig Daniel and his wife Jo Ann of Arnoldsville, GA, and Mike Daniel and his wife Elyse of Bogart, GA; grandsons, Jacob Daniel and his wife Kellie of Commerce, GA, Josh Daniel and his wife Delaney of Danielsville, GA, and Jared Daniel of Bogart, GA; great-grandson, Rowan Hayes Daniel; brothers, Arleigh Daniel of White, and Larry Daniel and his wife Reba of Chatsworth; a sister-in-law, Roxanne Daniel; a niece and nephew; along with other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Donald H. Daniel will be held Saturday, October 7th at Belmont Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. John Allen and Pastor Stephen Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include, Jacob, Josh and Jared Daniel, Patrick Daniel, Glynn Tindall, and Jonathan Purser. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Sportsmans Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends at Belmont Baptist Church, 126 West Belmont Drive, Calhoun, GA 30701, on Friday, October 6th between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of floral tributes, contributions may be made in memory of Donald to the "Good Samaritan Fund" in care of the Sportsmans Sunday School Class, 126 West Belmont Drive, Calhoun, GA 30701.
