Donald Eugene Pence

Mr. Donald Eugene Pence, age 79 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his residence following several months of declining health. He was born in Taylorville, IL on January 16, 1935, son of the late Donald Albert and Mary Pennington Pence.

Mr. Pence was retired as a truck driver with Shaw Industries. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patricia Townsend Pence of the home; two sons, Gary Pence and his wife Kay of Rockbridge, IL, and Luke Pence of Calhoun; two step-sons, Arlo Sweetman and his wife Twila of Resaca, and Mark Sweetman of Calhoun; two brothers, Jerry Roberts of Florida, and Ronnie Pence of Texas; and a sister, Ginny Stanbury and her husband Kenneth of Hammond, IL. Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Donald Eugene Pence will be held Friday, January 31st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Donnie Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

The Pence family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 12:00 noon until the service hour of 1:00 PM.
