Donald Lehron Lumpkin

Mr. Donald Lehron Lumpkin, age 84 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015. He was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on November 3, 1930, son of the late Willis W. Lumpkin and Aeria Findley Lumpkin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Lumpkin of Resaca, Herbert Lumpkin of Rome, Foster Lumpkin of Tampa, FL, Robert Lumpkin of Tampa, FL, Scottie Lumpkin of Tampa, FL, and Freddie Lumpkin of Jackson, SC; a sister, Betty Lumpkin of Rome; grandchild, Jessica Lucille Lumpkin; and a great grandchild, Skyler Evans.

Mr. Lumpkin served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1957. He was a self employed painting contractor for over 40 years and later retired from Carriage Industries. He was also a member of Hall Memorial Baptist Church.

He leaves be hind his wife of 63 years, Jimmie Lou Baker Lumpkin; sons, Don Lumpkin and his wife Wanda Garner Lumpkin and Rick Lumpkin and his wife Lori Russell Lumpkin; a brother, J.W. Lumpkin and his wife Hazel of Tampa, FL; a sister, Charolette Hubbard of Seffner, FL; sister-in-laws, Goldie Lumpkin and Pat Charles; grandchildren, Charlie Lumpkin, Brandy Lumpkin, and Joehannah Lumpkin; great grandchild, Scott Avery Lumpkin; nieces, Tiffany Johnston and Jennifer Maxwell.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Donald Lehron Lumpkin will be held Saturday, June 27th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Randy Muse officiating. Interment will follow at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Josh Maxwell, Donald "Charlie" Lumpkin, Rob Russell, Bryan Johnston, Scott Avery Lumpkin, and Edward Owens, Honorary pallbearers serving include James "Jimbo" Slaughter, William Findley, Charles Vaughn, Steve Moore, and Eddie Smith.

The Lumpkin family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 26th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gordon County Humane Society 790 Harris Beamer Rd SW, Calhoun, GA 30701.
