Donald Ray Walls

Mr. Donald Ray Walls, age 53 of Calhoun, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Floyd Medical Center following several years declining health.

Donald was born in Chatsworth, GA on October 21, 1959, son of Florence Walls.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Murray County, and was a Certified Water Intake Technician at Dalton Utilities for many years until his medical retirement. He was a 1978 graduate of Murray County High School. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray Walls, his beloved grandparents, Marion Samuel and Dora Walls, and his uncle that raised him, Lynn Stanfield.

He is survived by his daughters, Felicia Walls Pressley and her husband Jonathan, and Natasha Walls, all of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Sadie, Jaxson, and Breeanna. Other immediate family members surviving are Hilda Walls Stanfield, Jennifer Stanfield Holden, Lucretia Stanfield Cantrell, and Emily Stanfield; his aunts, Pauline Walls Towery, Mickey Walls Ledford, and Dorothy Walls Caldwell; and uncle, Sam Walls; the mother of his children, Tina Walls; along with nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Ray Walls will be conducted on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeremiah Quarles officiating. Interment will follow in Crane Eater Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include Glenn Walls, Michael Quarles, Ricky Quarles, Larry Quarles, Chris Langston and Roger Baynes.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26th, between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
